Una formulación compacta de la teoría de los números índices
Keywords:
teoría económicaAbstract
Presents a compact formulation of the origins of index numbers for prices and quantities, as well as its modern extension incorporating consumption and production theory. Included are most discrete indexes and some versions of the continuous Divisia index. The subject of Fisher's tests and the theory of approximations is analyzed in detail and examples are given of indexes exact for certain common forms of the aggregation function. As an empirical complement, and to determine their relative merits, a comparison of several index number formulae is included calculated for a period characterized by large price variations.
