Abstract

The need for environmental mitigation policies, the acute dependence on fossil fuels, and the air pollution in China have required a transition to a non-coal dominated energy system. The present study aims at reviewing the policies adopted by the Chinese government during this period of energy transition, as well as at examining the practical difficulties of their implementation oat a national level between 2010 and 2020.
