The Joint Declaration signed by Argentina and the United Kingdom constitutes a backward move as regards the Argentinian objective of recovering soverignty on the Malvinas Islands. This Declaration can only be considered to be useful as an attempt to, if impossible to avoid them, diminish the negative effects a bid by the British government would have. The Argentinian government must admit that their seduction policy has failed, causing the country to be in a situation of utter weakness; therefore; it is necessary to rectify the Malvinas policy. The subsequent behaviour of the parts seems to confirm the worst predictions made by the opposition.
