Abstract

This article aims at contributing to the discussion between two theoretical fields strongly influenced by the Anglo-Saxon’s tradition - International Relations (IR) and International Political Economy (IPE) – by adding a third one, International Law (IL), as a significant field in Latin America. It is conceived as a response to a previous article published in this journal (Tussie, 2015). Tussie’s paper detailed several IPE’s strands, influences, linkages with other theoretical fields, and the Latin American contribution to IPE. With this in mind, several intersection areas among the three disciplines are identified in this paper, including similarities between critical legal studies and critical IPE as examples of those intersection spaces where we can find room for conceptual and methodological collaborative work.
