Abstract

Brazil in a new context where it is recognized as a regional power through policies and tries to unprecedented increase its area of global influences. One of the consequences of his new foreign policy that aims to increase the projection Brazil the same became a donor country and not unheard of for a smaller country before receiving help and now has aspirations of average power. In this study we intend to outline the current situation of the policy of international cooperation for development practiced by Brazil during the government of President Lula da Silva at the same time based on the data made to try to identify and analyze the reasons that go beyond the official discourse that can justify the new status of Brazil as a donor country.
