Abstract

Foreign policy has been traditionally in the domain of national governments, but in the last years numerous actors have appeared, including subnational governments, who have started to participate actively in this area. This work will focus its attention in the private actor and the changes that this process of internationalization generates in the subnational public-private partnership. The hypothesis that we seek to demonstrate through five provincial case studies -Córdoba, Santa Fe, Buenos Aires, Chaco and Corrientes- is that the local private sector exerts a more active and leading role at the subnational level than at the national level.
