Abstract

Charles De Gaulle realized in 1964 an extensive trip for ten Latin-American countries. In this moment, Arturo Humberto Illia was governing the country, belonging to the Civic Radical Union of the People (UCRP), in a context of proscription of the Peronism. De Gaulle was in Argentina for three days the first week of October. This article studies the repercussions of this visit in the political internal forces. The visit constitutes a historical significant fact to understand to develop of the international insertion of the country and the internal debates in the matter, because it makes possible to analyze the positions of different economic, social and political forces.
