Abstract

Basic concepts of the activity of university-trained translators. Teaching
of legal translation. Methodology of reading comprehension. Analysis and solution
of difficulties. Balance between what is to be taught: selection and purpose, and how
to teach it, an essentially pedagogical problem. Study of documents. Linguistic and
conceptual difficulties arising from the differences between the legal systems. Society,
profession and ethics. Continuous learning and search for excellence. Conclusions.
