Abstract

The evolution of digital technology has brought about deep changes in society. Its use in educational contexts has changed pedagogy and the individuals who use it, creating a need for critical digital literacy in data and artificial intelligence. Digital humanities are considered a suitable field for this. Given the gap in the teaching of this field at the secondary level, this paper presents the design, implementation, and analysis of a workshop focused on teaching digital humanities at the secondary level. The workshop proposes a six-step sequence for designing and carrying out educational activities that involve distant reading and critical disciplinary computational thinking. The exploratory results obtained show the relevance of the proposal, which facilitates the development of knowledge and understanding, while providing a conceptual framework for practices that are sometimes already carried out intuitively.
