ABSTRACT In this paper will review the ways of treating and retaining the human skeletal remains in museum collections. This paper will refer mainly to treatment in human osteological collections during almost the entire twentieth century. In the early twentieth century the quality of the material recovered in the excavations carried out to shape the bone collections of major museums (like the one in La Plata), make unnecessary at that time the shares of preservation on the other hand, if implemented, will reduce the use of bonding materials. With the addition of new schools of thought regarding the conservation and preservation of cultural assets. There were new forms of treatment of human skeletal remains. The polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) is the material currently used for the preservation of human skeletal remains, which have poor conditions of preservation.
