This research examines the effect of implementing green practices in human resource management on employees’ perceptions of the company's environmental performance (EP) and their engagement in extra-role behaviors (ERB). The study follows a quasi-experimental and longitudinal design conducted in Mexico City.
The research was carried out with a sample of 160 operational employees from a logistics services company. A 10-item instrument was used to measure the variables EP and ERB. The measurement instrument was validated through tests of convergent and discriminant validity, as well as confirmatory factor analysis.
The findings show that, in the experimental group, there is a statistically significant difference when green human resource practices are implemented in the company—both in the employees’ perceptions of the company's EP and in the ERB performed by the employees.
