The Impact of public policies on the Mexican SMEs

The aim of this study was to conduct an analysis of the development of SMEs in Mexico in order to try to find out if the company policies have had a positive impact or not, for this purpose firstly the theme of the government influence on the growth process and permanence of SMEs it is developed; subsequently a brief sketch about the problems of this sector, then the evolution of the Mexican business sector it is analyzed, and finally it shows the evolution of corporate public policies and evaluations that have been conducted about the impact of them in the Mexican SMEs.
The main conclusion of this work is that the policies have been insufficient to support the creation, retention and development of SMEs (considering both the number of economic units as the created jobs), especially those of the same industrial sector that has lost competitiveness against a large company.
