Un análisis de costos y beneficios de teléfonos públicos de larga distancia en zonas rurales

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is two fold. Firstly, to detail a method for estimating the economic benefits to a national economy of providing long distance public telephone services to rural populations. Secondly, to publish the results of the application of this method to two small districts in central Chile. The study proves that the method proposed produces well defined results and an acceptable precision, providing reasonably good statistical information is available.
