Luego del atentado a la Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA), en julio pasado, la sociedad Argentina, ha vivido inserta en el fenómeno del Fundamentalismo Islámico, término que ha adquirido relevancia periodística para referirse a los hechos de fanatismo religioso perpetrado por los "islamitas". El presente artículo tiene por objeto, buscar el origen y posterior evolución de términos Fundamentalismo e Integrismo utilizados en los debates americanos y franceses nacidos dentro del universo protestante y católico. En tanto se plantea la utilización del término islámico para referirse a los grupos que intentan hacer de la religión, un Islam político y militante.

After the aggression against the AMIA (Asociación Mutual IsraelitaArgentina), last july, the Argentinian Society has became involved in the phenomenon of islamic Fundamentalism. This term has acquared journalistc relevance, in order to refer to the religions fanatic attacks perpetraded by the Islamites. This article aims at searching the origin and subsequent evolution of the terms Fundamentalism and Integrism as they have been used in American and French debates, and born wthin the catholic and Proptestant to refer to those groups which intend to turn religion into a political militant Islam.
