Abstract

The combination of conventional and non-conventional actions, space as an operational environment, cyberspace as a militarized area, the incorporation of Artificial intelligence and robotization in the Armaments, among many other 'novelties', constitute processes whose interpretation is neither unambiguous nor dissociated from the interests of specific actors. In this context, the article analyses the degree of relevance as a strategic objective of defense policy in the 21ST century the development of domestic scientific-technological and industrial capacities, explores the main global trends, dynamics between industry and defense in historical perspective and questions the conceptual bases of certain "conventional knowledge".
