Role of higher education in overcoming barriers to Latin American integration

Abstract

Some of the possibilities discussed of higher education in its contribution to overcome certain obstacles that are presented to Latin American integration. The appropriate academic training of professionals from different disciplines in the divisive values of integration can encourage the attenuation of the interfering factors of integrationist processes. Proposes the need to argue scientifically the reasons justifying the need for integration, as well as differentiate properly the globalization neoliberal practices. Finally raised some tasks higher education for higher education to the conflicts of the Latin American peoples they are presented as mutually exclusive alternatives: integration vs., globalization, especially in the increase of scientific research and encouraging the development of Latin American thought through the main moments of its history in its multifaceted expressions.
