Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the increase in the productive asymmetries that occurred between Argentina and Brazil during the last two decades, linking them with the trade deficit of industrial products presented today by Argentina in the bilateral relationship. On the other hand, it is proposed to contribute to the understanding of the roots of these asymmetries based on the divergences in the policies implemented by the two countries during the period considered that extends from the implementation of MERCOSUR in the early 1990s to The year 2008.
