Architect Alfredo Conti
Traces and influences in the Territory and Environment Research Laboratory of the Scientific Research Commission of the Province of Buenos Aires

This essay recognizes the outstanding academic and scientific work of Architect Alfredo Conti, who was a fundamental part of the Territory and Environment Research Laboratory of the Scientific Research Commission of the Province of Buenos Aires (LINTA-CIC), both as researcher and director. His efforts to strengthen the Laboratory within the Provincial Technical Scientific System and his contribution to issues related to territorial planning in general and the study of heritage in particular are especially considered. His presence and human warmth are emphasized, as well as his professional quality, which transcended the national scope.
The paper is structured in three main axes: firstly, it examines his institutional trajectory at LINTA, his role as director until 2021 and his validity as emeritus researcher of the CIC; secondly, it analyzes his contribution to the valorization and valuation of heritage both at theoretical and methodological level for analysis and management at national and international level; and, thirdly, it highlights his generosity in promoting the training of human resources, strengthening the academic and scientific system as a teacher, researcher and disseminator. In addition, some relevant works carried out at LINTA with significant impact on the Buenos Aires community are included.
