The mixed method approach was selected because it tends to pragmatic conceptions of knowledge. It uses open and closed questions, emerging and predetermined approaches and the respective data and analysis (Creswell, 2003).
The research strategy used was the sequential exploratory, due to its characteristics, in the collection and analysis of qualitative data, followed by the collection and analysis of quantitative data.
The result was that the vast majority wants to continue with the activity that is currently working on and the new venture would strengthen its current situation, undertaken in another branch as controlled agriculture as the case of greenhouses to avoid the adverse weather conditions, or as the case of fruit production, the move foward to packaging and canned fruit.
There is not a single profile, but there is diversity with certain characteristics typical of the environment of the state of Zacatecas.
