Farewell to Manuel Marí

It is with great sadness that we have to give the ungrateful news of the death of Manuel Marí, a founding member of the PLACTS Network and of the editorial committee of the journal CTyP, a very dear friend and colleague.
Manuel was Spanish by birth, Peruvian by adoption, Argentinean by residence and Latin American by conviction. He endured exile because of his political commitment, and then promoted and disseminated for decades the ideas of Latin American Thinking on Science, Technology and Development (PLACTED), being one of the central figures who kept that legacy alive. He also specialised in foresight and technology watch, training a generation of experts in the field who continue his work. In addition, he was a tireless fighter for human rights, self-determination of peoples and Latin American unity. Farewell comrade and friend!
