Fragments of Oscar Alberto Varsavsky
Keywords:
Varsavsky Oscar Alberto, Argentina, PlactedAbstract
Oscar Alberto Varsavsky is one of the relevant figures of Latin American Thought in Science, Technology, Development and Dependency. Controversial, owner of a clear, direct language, in which qualitative description is revalued, without ceasing to be exhaustive, his work is an unavoidable reference to study and understand Latin American scientific and/or university problems. His ideas, in many revolutionary aspects, continue to have a singular validity and are essential to think about current reality. The selected fragments have been extracted from two of his most representative works: Science, Politics and Scientism and Towards a National Science Policy and from one of his controversial articles published in the journal Ciencia Nueva.
