The pandemic highlighted, on a global scale, the need to steer S&T research and production to solving problems and needs that arose. This article analyzes the response of the Argentinian scientific-technological complex through the activities of the Coronavirus Unit, created by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation, and integrated by different national institutions. This experience’s impact on the dynamics of the national S&T activity is discussed, and hailed as a possible model of action to articulate social and productive demands through the production of situated knowledge.
