This article discusses the role of science and technology (S&T) policies as a tool for inclusive development, analyzing the case of the Scientific Research Commission (CIC) of the Province of Buenos Aires. In recent years, the orientation of the CIC has been focused, on the one hand, on contributing to the development of basic conditions for the consolidation of a solid and articulated provincial S&T system; on the other hand, on promoting links with the socio-productive environment to help overcome development challenges. The results of this analysis highlight the importance of translating the instruments into public policy management tools, in dialogue with the S&T system itself and the rest of the public and private sectors.
