Resumen

La Organización Mundial de la Salud se refiere a la infertilidad como una enfermedad del sistema reproductivo definida como la incapacidad de  lograr un embarazo clínico después de 12 meses o más de relaciones sexuales no protegidas. En nuestro país, la infertilidad es una enfermedad que afecta entre el 15 y 20 % de las parejas en edad reproductiva. La propuesta de este trabajo es conocer inicialmente cuales son las consecuencias o alteraciones psicológicas ligadas a la infertilidad, en las mujeres que atraviesan los diferentes tratamientos, para luego indagar qué aportes pueden hacerse desde la Musicoterapia. Muchas investigaciones demuestran que la infertilidad produce diferentes alteraciones psicológicas en las parejas, aunque suele ser la mujer sobre quien recae la mayor carga de estrés, depresión y ansiedad, incluso cuando es el hombre quien padece la causa de la infertilidad. Al igual que otras enfermedades, la infertilidad, produce un gran impacto en la calidad de vida de las personas, por eso en primer lugar este trabajo se propone realizar una revisión bibliográfica que permita comprender la problemática, y en segundo lugar, ofrecer un fundamento para la inserción del Musicoterapeuta dentro del equipo de profesionales que trabajan en el campo de la infertilidad.
