Editorial OpeningAbstract
Ayana. Revista de Investigación en Turismo is issued bi-annually and constitutes an open-access electronic
publication, aiming to make information and knowledge distribution more accessible and free. An international scientific committee was established to ensure academic quality, formed by university and renowned research center professionals. Besides, the prior requirement of the pair-revision process is determined for the publication of articles. Like many other types of contributions, the acceptance of texts in Spanish, Portuguese, and English aims to encourage the publication of Latin American articles and international ones. Here, it is also encouraged to publish results from research projects and essays and brief communications, exposing preliminary results and case studies. The editorial process is the committed and enthusiastic work of all the staff at the Tourism Research Institute, together with the valuable support of the Research and Knowledge Transfer Secretariat of the School of Economic Sciences.
From the Journal's first issue publication, we expect, in such a challenging year for the entire world, to
contribute to the spread of tourism knowledge as a means of building a more equal and fair world, based on the respect of human rights, the promotion of peace, and community acknowledgment.
