The world needs to take advantage of the social dimension of World Heritage management and citizen involvement is crucial to achieve this goal. However, the participation from the institutional point of view has minimized the perspective about its integrating condition for social transformation. This article explores to what extent the estimation of social impacts, generated by those interventions which foster social and tourism use, considers the perspective of the communities. Based on a bibliographic research, the analysis and selection of indicators applied in the case studies were carried out, which identified convergences between estimations of social impacts and the answers obtained from the communities’ perception.
