The role of the media and social networks in the construction of idealized images of the female body represents an important area of current research. Having valid and reliable measures that allow for the deepening of knowledge is highly relevant. The objective of this research was to provide evidence of validity and reliability that supports the use of the Critical Processing Scale of Beauty Images in an incidental non-probabilistic sample composed of university students (N = 203). The results suggest acceptable psychometric properties and the confirmatory factor analysis allowed to observe a good fit to the trifactorial model suggested by the authors. Based on this, the use of the scale is suggested for research in mixed samples, both women and men, hoping that studies in different populations offer greater empirical support for the construct.
