Current perspectives in the study of early development

The present article introduces a dossier covering some contemporary concerns in early development research. For instance, the role of adults, both as facilitators of quality interactions and as interlocutors of the first exchanges with children, or the importance of conducting observations in everyday contexts are key in analyzing how certain socio-material dynamics contribute to child development from the beginning of life. The four papers in this collection open up a space for reflecting on both theoretical and analytical proposals, aiming at reaching a better understanding of how early development is built and under what circumstances.
