Abstract

In this issue the collaboration of Martín Tetaz - section "Central theme" - addresses the social question and governance in the integration processes. These processes have economic repercussions, which vary according to the type of integration chosen to implement them. If the mobilizing model of integration is the commercialist - liberal and implicit in open regionalism - it is essentially transmitted through commercial channels. In contrast, in the paradigm of the new regionalism there is a concern for the social. In that case, the demand for education increases. To satisfy it, a higher educational budget is required. The task to be tackled in the new regionalism would then be to apply new integration strategies and policies aimed at reaching that goal in the area of education.
