Open science is the practice of conducting research ensuring that all processes and outcomes are openly available and accessible to everyone with minimal barriers. Implementing open science involves concrete changes in research methods. In this presentation, I introduce the general framework of open science and consider the benefits and challenges associated with preprints, open peer review, open access, open data, preregistration, and large-scale collaborations. The discussion demonstrates that implementing open science brings remarkable advantages to research in psychology and the social sciences.
